Temples and Cultural Sites


DusitPalaceDusit Palace is not just a single building but a grand complex of royal residences constructed in the early 20th century by King Rama V.  The design of the palace is heavily influenced by European architecture, reflecting the king’s travels and admiration for Western culture.
Vimanmek Mansion was once the world’s largest teakwood building. Inside, visitors can explore rooms filled with royal memorabilia, antique furniture, and decorative arts.
Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall is an ornate hall built in a Moorish style. It is now used as a museum showcasing traditional Thai handicrafts.
Other main buildings are the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and the Chitralada Royal Villa.
Marble TempleWat Benchamabophit, also known as the Marble Temple, is one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples. It was commissioned by King Rama V and designed by his half-brother, Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongs, in the early 20th century.
The temple’s name comes from the Carrara marble imported from Italy, which was used extensively in its construction. The gleaming white marble gives the temple a unique and elegant appearance.

Parks and Recreational Places 


Dusit Zoo was once located in the heart of the Dusit district since being established in 1938. In 2018, the zoo was closed, and the animals were relocated to new facilities outside of Bangkok.
The zoo was originally a private botanical garden for King Rama V before being opened to the public. Although the original Dusit Zoo is no longer operational, its legacy is an important part of the Dusit district’s history.
Visitors can still explore the area where the zoo once stood. Located opposite the Dusit Palace.
Suan Amporn is a large public park located in the Dusit district and often used for royal ceremonies, national events, and public gatherings. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the green space amidst the historical surroundings.
The park features statues and monuments dedicated to past kings which adds to the historical ambiance of the area.
